My sister-in-law, Trish, runs an awesome nature club here in McHenry County called The Green Team. And we kicked off our Halloween weekend with a Not So Spooky Halloween Hike at the Pleasant Area Conservation Area in Woodstock, IL. It was a gorgeous day for a short hike, and the kids had a blast searching for hidden clues along the path. They learned all sorts of cool trivia about Halloween and guessing what the hidden clues were talking about -- a vampire bat! At the end of the hike, we gathered in the picnic shelter and learned bit more about these amazing creatures (that I never want to meet, thankyouverymuch!) and received coloring pages and treats. What a great time! Thanks Aunt Trish!
